Mechanical Fitter (Transformers, full time only).

FHP are looking for a skilled Fitter to join a well developed contractor within the UK energy sector.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in using various hand and power tools. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding components related to the install of large scale Transformers.

The base of the works will be at Walsall but you will be required to travel UK wide and stay away from home when on projects. (Typically the work is Monday - Friday)

Duties

• Fabricate and assemble metal components using hand tools and power tools.

• Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to ensure strong and durable joints.

• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately complete projects.

• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety regulations.

• Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.

• Work safely and efficiently within a dangerous environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fitter working with UK Transformers

• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools and power tools effectively.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ideally, DNO or National Grid authorisations to work.
