Project Manager – HV Substation Mechanical Projects

Midlands Based | UK & Scotland Travel | Full-Time | Permanent

Frances-Higgins Projects (FHP) are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of HV substation mechanical installation projects across the UK.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business delivering major infrastructure projects for National Gridand leading DNOs, including SPEN and UKPN.


The Role

You will take responsibility for managing multiple mechanical installation projects from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Projects will include:

  • HV substation steel erection

  • Transformer installations

  • Mechanical equipment installation

  • Associated balance of plant and mechanical works

  • Managing site teams, subcontractors and client relationships

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards


Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing National Grid and/or DNO mechanical installation projects

  • Strong knowledge of HV substation construction and mechanical installation

  • Experience delivering steel erection and transformer installation projects

  • Excellent planning, commercial and communication skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence


Location

Applicants should ideally be based in the Midlands. This is a hybrid role, with projects located throughout the UK and Scotland, requiring regular travel and 2–3 days per week on site.
