Appointed Person / Temporary Works Co-Ordinator (HV Substations)

FHP are working with a well known contractor within the UK's Substation Industry. Due to an increase in workload an opportunity has arisen for an Appointed Person to join the team. Ideally they are looking for someone that has been also involved with elements of Temporary Work Co-ordiation on site also.


The Appointed Person will play a crucial role in ensuring on site safe lifting operations on live sites. As the Appointed Person, you will be responsible for ensuring all construction activities requiring lifting operations are safely planned and executed. You will also be required to assist in planning other temporary construction works within the business.

This is a Hybrid role, you will have opportunies to work from home, but the majority of the work will be site based and this could be anywhere in the UK so you must be willing to work away from home.


Role & Responsibilities:


• Identify any planned work requiring complex lifts

• Communicate with project / construction managers, engineers, and site supervision to plan upcoming lifting works and other works on site.

• Create lift plans ensuring all safety policies are adhered to and personel have the correct qualifications

• Ensure all lifting operations comply with all relevant paperwork.

• Create Risk assesments that relate to the works planned

• Maintain a Lifting Equipment Register & regular equipment checks

• Attend regular meetings to report back on Tempory Works.


Experience & Qualifications


  • Experience in construction, or Engineering

  • 2 years minimum AP experience

  • Appointed Persons Lifting Operations

  • TWC Tempory Works Co-Ordinator

  • Suitable IT skills

  • Ideally NG Person or other DNO Authorisations

  • Must be willing to travel throughout the UK


In return there is a generous package on offer of £55-£60k + PA Plus Travel, Lodge and a Car Allowence.
